When do you need an employment record book translation?
Anerkennung for a profession
To have a profession recognized (Pflegekraft, engineer, electrician, etc.) a translation of the employment record book is needed as proof of relevant work experience gained in Ukraine.
Pension (Rentenversicherung)
The Deutsche Rentenversicherung takes Ukrainian employment periods into account when calculating the pension — this requires a certified translation of the entire employment record book.
Job application
German employers often ask for a translation of the employment record book during qualified job applications as a substitute for references when obtaining them from previous Ukrainian employers is difficult.
